2006 Wrap Up

Well, here it is, one whole year later. It's been a decent year, as opposed to others, not Grrrreeat! in the Tony the Tiger way, but pretty good. A hell of a lot better than last year, that's for damn sure!! January I moved to Kansas City, held a few jobs, went thru 2 cars, a few boring dates, a lot of alone time, a lot of Bud Light, fell in love, got crushed by "love", and tried online dating, brought BlackLiquid to Kansas City (yea!!) Got re-acquainted with old college friends, made some killer new friends, traveled to Omaha, Des Moines, Springfield and St. Louis, random road tripped to Vegas and LA, went to LA, San Diego and San Francisco and Pleasanton a few times, made amends with mom, got pissed at Grammie, (what the hell was that Christmas card about?), tried to see my sister as an adult, not a little kid, and gained some insight into who I am.
All in all, a pretty good year.

Hopefully next year will be even better. No, not hopefully.

NEXT. YEAR. IN 2006. WILL BE AWESOME.

Just need to keep on keeping on....listening to my inner voice, make new friends/contacts, find a better job (in a warmer climate!), and believe in myself.

"He" is constantly online, but hardly ever writes me, unless I happen to IM him and know he's online cuz he cant be invisible on those computers.

He's always on the VF/myspace.

What an amazing weekend!!

This weekend was awesome.
Friday night, I went to the Midwest Burners Meet n Greet Party/Kyrka's Housewarming Party.
It was great fun, and it is always good to see the Burning Crew again!
I hardly drank, which i OK once in a while, and got to bed around 4am. Had to get up semi-early to Pick up BlackLiquid at the airport. I left the house late, (as ususal!) and parked at the wrong side of the airport, and had to run halfway across all the terminals, but I made it to the gate less than 30 seconds before he got off the plane. Sweeeeet! *LOL*

We went around town to two of the record stores, and introduced him, and dropped off a few promo CD's and the like. checked into the Hotel and took a nap. Woke up at 7:50pm, and was supposed to be at Kabal at 8 for dinner! Yikes!! Tore up the place getting ready, and was at kabal by 9. No worries, mate!

The crowd was unbelieveable. Manders opening set was amazing, and BlackLiquid was totally impressed. I guess she had a few of the same albums,and played some of the tracks he had in his set! LOL

Then he went on, the energy in Kabal was just so amazing! People were screaming and hollering. A few songs into the set, people and BL got the groove, and the dancefloor filled up and stayed that way pretty much all night. The only people that were standing were waiting for the bar. I've been to Kabal a few times now, and there are always a core group of dancers, and a bunch of people standing around watching. Wasn't this way on Saturday!!!!! :-)

I got some great footage on the video camera and some great camera shots too. Gotta get the film developed!
When the time came to shut off the music, people were crying "Encore!" and asking for one more song. Awesomeeee!!!!!!!!

We went to Deepfix Record store after, for a little afterparty. There, spoke to a lot of new fans, and had a nice time. Also spoke to John G. who asked us about the possiblity of performing at Wakarusa next year! YESSSSS!!! That was exactly what I was looking for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!woowhoooo

Got home about 7am or so, time is fuzzy then. We rolled, and talked for the next few hours. Slept off most of the day, sunday, got some chinese, and went to bed.

Dropped him off at the airport Monday morning, and returned to business as usual. Wow. Craziness.

The whole event couldnt have gone any better or smoother. Not one single, little problem to report. NOTHING. I've never done an event that had NOTHING go wrong. Fabulous. Thanks and Kudos to Todd from Phocas.net, and Happy anniversary!!

The older I get, the worst PMS I seem to get. Is this true for anyone else?? I've been friggen crying for like 3 days...I guess there's more to it though.
My car died on Sunday, I got laid off the day before I left for Thanksgiving vacation...which was a fucking trip...dont wanna do that again...oh wait! I *AM* doing that again....I'm going home for Christmas. Fuck. And, since I'm a fucking lame-o, I cannot get a car loan because my credit is more fucked up than a 80 year old hooker on heroin. (where does my brain come up with this stuff??)

So I'm at my new job, 2nd day on the job. It's oK I guess. Old people, boring receptionist job. I had to use a TYPEWRITER today. Who the fuck uses those?? God I'm cranky.

Ok, so the good and fun and wierd news you've all been waiting for. (who reads this shit anyway besides Karen??)

1. I got a new job within a week. Yay for Kelly Services
2. I booked BlackLiquid to play at the club out here, and it's going to be on Saturday. I can't fucking wait.
3. I booked us a radio show for an interview for tomorrow night. It will be at 10:30pm Central time on 90.1 FM in Kansas City, or on www.kkfi.org for those not in KC. That should be pretty fun. I met the guys last week, and had a great time hanging out in the studio with them all night.
4. I got my period today, so that means I might be able to have actual sex on Saturday! lol
5. I found a really cool new spot to hang at on Friday nights. Finally!!
6. OK....here's a wierd Andrea story.
SO...last Tuesday, I'm talking with Todd, and he says he has some extra tickets to check out Infusion, and Australian electronica band down at the Empire Room. I had seen an email about it a day or two earlier and was excited cuz it looked really neat. After meeting up at Balancas, we head down there, and the place is rockin!! Not too many people there, mind you, cuz KC doesnt know fucking good music if it introduced itself then bit them on the ass, but I digress.
Todd turns to me and says, "Hey, I want you to meet someone." He hails this brunette girl that is taking pix of the band. "Bubbles, meet Bubbles", he says. I smile at her, and say hey, and in the back of my head a memory is popping up of me and "him" sitting talking about my nickname, and he mentioned something about an ex-girlfriend who's name was Bubbles. I just KNEW this was her.
So, a while afterward I ask, hey, "do you know a guy named...?" She just looked at me with this stunned expression on her face and nodded.
So, I buy her a drink and say, "I want all the dirt you got on him." *LOL*
I got dirt. Oh yes I did.
so, I fill her in on the fact that he's "engaged", and in Pakistan, yada yads, how he met "her", and our trip to LA, blah blah blah....

she seemed pretty cool. I liked her anyway. It's toward the end of the night, and I have a job interview-test-thingie in the morning, so I wrap up my night. I chitchat with the band memebers for a bit, and realize it's pretty much them, me and her and one or two random people in the club.
I head out and start to warm up my car. It takes (or took) forever to warm up the car, so a few minutes later, Bubbles number 2 runs out to her car. I say "hey girl", and she tells me to follow her. "Where are we going?" "Were going to the bands hotel!" she exclaims.
In the mood for some light trouble, I follow her and the cab with band en route.
The other two band members go to sleep, and I follow her the other ones' room. Not really sure what I"m doing there, but maybe I'll stay for a beer or what ever and head out. Dont want to be rude, also dont wanna be a 'groupie', as the cab driver sneered at us.
Chitchatted for a bit then, well, kinda ended up having a threesome with him, her and me.
