Awesome weekend

This last weekend was great....

On Thursday, Karen came down to catch her flight out of KCI, and so I made dinner. It turned out that it was our new roommate's BDay, so we all had cake and wine as well. Karen and I hardly got any sleep we were giggeling like a bunch of 12 year olds till like 3am.

Friday, I went to work...couldn't wait to get the hell outta there! Dont get me wrong, I like my job, but it was a nice day, I was PMS'ing, and left my cigarettes at home....arrrgh.....

Got home and did NOTHING....IT WAS AWESOME. I watched some TV, had a smoke, ate chocolate, and my roommates werent even home. Bliss.

Saturday, I slept in, smoked, watched some Dr. Wayne Dyer for inspiration, and had 3 beers while watching old episodes of the Daily Show and South Park. Took a shower, and then Chanon came over and we went to the Mall for a bit of shopping before heading out to see Josh Wink at the new VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino.

That was so much fun, I had been looking forward to Josh Wink for almost 2 months! And a bunch of Burners came out as well! Was a great time, and I passed a note on a bar napkin to him, telling him that I knew Jennifer, and Christain and Chuck, who he met in Costa Rica last year. He stopped by to say hi, and we chatted a bit....

Then Boozer suggested we go to an afterhours, a new-ish place called Rust in the West Bottoms. I had heard it had opened but hadnt been there, so I was excited to try a new place. We got there, after getting a bit lost, it really is in the middle of nowhere, you have to know exactly where to go.
Was dissapointed at first, there was like 15 people there ! Then, after Lor and Bob left, suddenly people were POURING thru the door! There were probably well over 100 people in there within 20 minutes. I had no idea such a place existed in Kansas City. Chanon and I were just amazed at all the people there who came in after the bars closed. I'm so glad we didnt go home. We didn't stay long being tired and all, but I will definatly go back and check that place out again.

IN THE CLUB WORLD....

Blackliquid had officially asked me to be his booking agent, so now I've been looking trying to find some books on booking. I mean, I've been doing it unofficially for years now, but now I want to actually learn the ins in outs. Problem is, all the books I have been finding have been for bands or singers. Electronica music is just different. Some simalarities, but even down to how it's promoted is so very different. I guess I"ll have to just write my own book! LOL......

IN THE LOVE WORLD....

Well, that's practically non existant at this point. I'm almost given up, but not in a bad way, 'cuz I realize that not having someone in my life isn't sucha big deal anymore. I can work on myself, and the things that make me happy, because not having someone to take up my extra time just means more time for me to do things I like (or watch tv, whatever) LOL

I talked to "him" today again online. I miss him tons. I'm just glad he's OK, I wish things here for him were a bit better, but I have no control over any of that. Only can sit and wait and see what happens....enough of that....blogs have ears.....LOL....

Ok , it's after 5, time to go.....

Catchin' up

So, while I'm typing this, Ian pops online.... *giggle* :)

Gawd I miss that man!!
I have a challenge now though to really really learn poi now, cuz all he has is time out there to practice! I better not eat my own words! LOL

So let's play catch up:
In October, I went to California for a week and a half. It was mom's bday, so we went to the woman's weekend of discovery. It was OK. I learned a little, which is always nice. And then I got to see the beach at Half Moon Bay, with mom on Monday cuz Bobby the alchoholic flaked on me Monday morning. Monday night I saw Matt, and we went to Berkley, and went to Amoeba music where I picked up a Juno Reactor CD, and replaced my Pearl Jam collection that got stolen (or whatever). Had dinner at Jupiter, then headed over the Bay to SF where we had a drink at the top of the Marriott hotel, which is all made of glass and oversees the entire city of SF. Very cool.

Tuesday, I had lunch with Heather, who I hadn't seen in at least 5 years, then Susan came out to Pleasanton, and we went shopping at the Mall, then to my house for a bit, then out to dinner.

Wednesday, I hopped a plane to LA, then drove to San Diego to see Vikki. We went out to dinner at Claim jumper, then hung at her house the rest of the night.

Thursday I left her house, went to the beach for a few hours, then went and saw Diane Edwards, a hypnotherapist. Had never been to a hypnotherapist before. Was kind of neat, I liked it, she was very warm and relaxing to talk to. She ended up recording the session on a CD so that I could take it home and listen to it. I haven't listened to it since except once, and I can notice that my bad habits are slowly coming back, so that's interesting. A few hours later I met up with Schad and some guys he works with for a late lunch, then decided to stay in San Diego for another night, as it was rush hour and would have taken me HOURS to drive back to LA at that time in the afternoon. I went to Gorden Birch with him and Elanie, his girlfriend for some after work function. I broke off my dinner plans with Nino to do this. See, I wasnt going to call him to tell him I was in LA at all, but as I had some time to kill in KC as my brain was saying "no, dont call him!", my hand was reaching in my purse for the phone. Damn you cell phones!!

Anyway, Friday I leave Schad's house and head up to LA to Kataka's new place. Hang out with her for most of the day, then head down to Santa Monica to have the dinner with Nino. There are somethings that happened in San Diego when we lived together that I just couldnt figure out with the whole "ghost" situation and I needed some answers and explainations.

Picked him up at his new place, and he comes out wearing a suit! We went to Marie Calendar's for dinner and there he gives me a beautiful beaded silk Sue Wong purse. Wow! He got it from one of LA fashion week's shows. We talk and clear some stuff up so I feel much better about everything. I have to accept he's fucked up and I am movin' on!! :)

After I leave Nino, I called up Jeff P. and he picks me up since he's only like 2 blocks from Kataka's house, and we go to the Dresden to have a drink. Head back to his house and have some more beers and all of a sudden it's 6am!

Saturday: sleep on and off all day at Kataka's, then go out for Sushi, then head to Ike and Amy's house. I'm spending the night there, and we're heading out to Spundae to see Mark Lewis play. It was so great to be at Spundae, a real, proper club again!! I dance my little butt off!
Then back to Ike n Amy's to roll and play till the next afternoon. I only get like 2 hours of sleep in, and then head off to the airport, where I am in a total daze. Get a few drinks on in the plane, and get home to bed about 2am. Whew!
I was supposed to go to work the next day, but end up sleeping in and unpacking instead.

Halloween Weekend:

Friday night I head out with Leanne and Jim to one of thier friends houses, and I"m testing out my costume. Little did I know that this was thier bible study group! LOL I"m this gothic chick. It was pretty funny to be surrounded by angels and bumblebees and boy scout leaders! A ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

Then after an hour or so we head back home and meet up with Cullun and Ross and drink till like 2 am or somthing. Pretty fun.

Saturday, I sleep on and off most of the day, and get ready for the huge halloween party at Brandon's house. It was a great party, and some of my burner friends show up too, an Cy spins fire poi for them in the street. Dustin drives us back home, and sleeps over....(no, not what you're thinking, either!)

Sunday, Lorie has a pumpking carving party, and I go over there, to carve my kitty cat pumpkin. It turned out really cute.
Then Zay, Michael, Dustin, show up too, making it a fun burner event.

Monday is Halloween day, and I meet up with Lorie in full Goth regalia and head out to the Brick for some "Scarey-Okie". Now, I have to tell you I "hate" Kareoke, but this was actuallly pretty cool, beacause the people that sang mostly sang in relation to thier costumes! We bailed after a few hours and didnt see the winners, but it was a fun time.

Nov. 3rd was 180 Degrees Design Firm's Open House with a Napleon Dynamite Theme. It went over smashingly! Which was great cuz I organized the whole damn thing me-self!

Friday, nov. 4th, Karen www.thehacksworths/karen and Paul came down to KC to visit for the weekend. Friday night we were going to go to First Friday's art walk, but they got down here too late, so we met up with some of my Burner friends at Grinders. They had never seen fire spinners before! They were very impressed. :)

Saturday, we got up and I made them blueberry and raspberry pancakes and eggs. Then we went to the Boulvard Brewary Tour...Espressso Stout...that's all I gotta say....yum! Then I wanted to take them to authentic KC BBQ. I dont really care for Gates, (may AH Help YOU??) *ducks, dont throw things at me!) So I took them to Smokin' Joes on Southwest Blvd. The food was marginal, but to make up for it, the waitress gave us the most awesomest brownies in the whole wide world! I had one for dinner last night with a Boulveard 47. Yum.
Then we came home and "napped" while watching Scream. How can you nap during a scarey movie? *sigh* I had only seen it once. So I had to watch it again. Then we called Chanon, and she met up down at Harrah's casino for a bit, then headed back to my house for more beer and hot tub action.

Sunday we went to Parkville, MO, and ate at the PowerPlant brewary, and I tried Pumpkin Ale. It was really yummy! Didn't think I would like pumpkin beer, since i dont like pumpkins, but I was wrong. Then we window shopped, and came back home tired and happy. Karen and Paul left shortly thereafter.

On our way back home, we got stuck in traffic waiting for the police to finish cleaning up after a car accident. It turns out it was Kyle, our newest roommate was in the accident! We pulled over to see if they were OK, and it was Kyle's girlfriends car he was driving, since his car had just gotten stolen a few weeks before! Man that guy has bad Kar Karma! I'm not letting him drive my piece of shit car!! LOL

Pretty much caught up now.

Am still working on the CNU conference for next week. Man I'll be glad when this is over! After its over and hopefully runs super-smoothly, I'm gonna ask them for a raise. I can't live on this wage anymore. Christmas is coming up, and I gots bills yo! *sigh*

Saturday I think Chanon is coming over again, and I'm going to go check out the VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's to see Josh Wink. Can't wait!!

Speaking of DJ's, Todd from Phocas asked me to book Blackliquid for his 4 year anniversary party! Finally, some decent fucking DJ's in KC. Woohoo! Set your calenders everyone!! It's going to be Dec. 10th at Kabal.

Ok enough for now I'm tired of typing.
